Do you get 14 days grace for an MOT? Many people believe that there is a two-week grace period for lapsed MOTs – which can allow drivers a leeway period to get their vehicle booked in for their MOT test. The new rules, which came into force from May 20, mean that instead of vehicles being given a 'pass' or 'fail' rating at their MOT, any defects will now be categorised as 'dangerous', 'major' or 'minor' with the first two of these resulting in a test failure.
As of 1 February 2021, it is illegal to fit tyres aged over 10 years to: The front axle of a goods vehicle with a maximum gross weight exceeding 3,500 kg. The front axle of a bus or coach - including minibuses (9 to 16 passenger seats) The rear axle of a minibus with single rear wheels fitted.
